President Benigno Aquino III was in Malaysia in February, 2014 for a two-day state visit where he invited the Malaysian business community to tap opportunities in the growing Philippine economy particularly in Mindanao. Among the members of his official delegation were Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras, Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Deles, Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma, Mindanao Development Authority Chairperson Luwalhati Antonino and other government officials. President Aquino and his Delegation also attended the inauguration of the first Petron gas station in Kuala Lumpur, which represents the $1.2 billion-investment of Philippine company Petron Corporation in Malaysia.
