Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio Morales (second from right) recently met with the representatives of the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) at the SMCCI offices. He was joined by the Philippine Trade & Investment Centre (PTIC) Commercial Counsellor Glenn Peñaranda (second from left). Representing SMCCI were (from left to right): Mr. Abdul Majid of Gem Vacation & Travel Pte Ltd, Mr. Abdul Rohim Sarip of legal firm Noor Lila & Partners and Mr. Shaik Abdul Malek Mattar of furniture company Lerus Pte Ltd.
Ambassador Morales thanked the SMCCI for its interest in trade and investment opportunities in the Philippines, specifically in Mindanao. The SMCCI was also invited to upcoming activities in the country: Mindanao Business Conference in General Santos this month, Design and Lifestyle event Manila FAME International at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City from October 16 to 19, 2nd BIMP-EAGA & IMT-GT Trade Fair & Business Leaders Conference in Davao from October 23 to 26 and the International Food Exchange (IFEX 2015) with Halal Food Conference in Manila from May 21 to 24, 2015.
In May this year, PTIC-Singapore participated in the Malay Muslim Business Conference held in Singapore.
Established in 1956, SMCCI is an independent and non-profit organisation of the Malay-Muslim community in Singapore. It plays an active role in representing the business interests of the community.
