Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary Adrian S. Cristobal, Jr. (right) welcomes and receives a token from Kansai Economic Federation (Kankeiren) Vice Chairman Masayuki Matsushita during the roundtable meeting for the Kankeiren business delegation on September 16, 2014 at the Industry and Investments Building in Makati City. The meeting highlighted industry roadmaps development to accelerate growth in the Philippines’ key sectors of industry, particularly in manufacturing. With the industry roadmap’s clear vision to transform the economy and a more pro-active government bent on achieving this goal, the country is now seen as a good place to invest. Matsushita led a 20-member delegation composed of business leaders from manufacturing, trade and services, and financial sectors that seek to expand and establish new businesses in the Philippines. He is also the chairman of Kankeiren International Committee and the vice chairman of the board in Panasonic Corporation. Kankeiren is composed of 1300 businesses, organizations, educational corporations and other entities that pursue economic activities mainly in Kansai, Japan.
