High-level dialogue on inclusive business. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretaries Adrian S. Cristobal, Jr. (fifth from left), Nora K. Terrado (left), and Zenaida C. Maglaya (second from right) pose with government and private sector leaders from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies during the High-Level Dialogue on Inclusive Business on November 12, 2015 at the Peninsula Manila in Makati City. Through this dialogue, DTI expects to gain a common understanding and a deeper appreciation of inclusive business, explore its vast opportunities, and chart the ensuing steps. It also intends to carve a permanent place for Inclusive Business in APEC, and continue when Peru succeeds the Philippines as chair of APEC in 2016. “Our focus is on identifying and promoting IB models, encourage more companies to come up with inclusive business solutions of their own, and establish an enabling policy environment where such businesses can thrive and flourish. In doing so, we follow the lead of countries in Latin America and the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), as well as the G20, where concrete policy options on inclusive business are in place,” Cristobal said in his opening remarks during the dialogue.
