The Department of Trade and Industry - Capiz Provincial Office targets to open two more Negosyo Centers (NC) this year in order to provide more access on business information and services to budding and existing entrepreneurs in the Province of Capiz.

DTI Capiz Provincial Director Ermelinda P. Pollentes said her office targets to launch additional NC in Mambusao and Pontevedra, this year. The two municipalities are strategically located for the clients from District II (Mambusao) and District I (Pontevedra).

The launching of the additional centers, either in Mambusao or Pontevedra, is slated on April, in time for the celebration of the 2016 Capiztahan. DTI key officials are expected to grace the activity.

Pollentes said that her office had already invited Trade and Industry Secretary Adrian Cristobal Jr. to grace the event during the latter’s recent visit in the province, particularly at the Capiz Toll Packaging Center in Brgy. Tiza, Roxas City.

Cristobal was among the officials who joined the kick-off campaign of the administration party in Roxas City last February 9. He met with the officers and members of the Capiz Integrated Food Producers Association (CIFPA).

CIFPA is the primary beneficiary of the said project.

The Center is one of the nine Shared Service Facility (SSF) Projects implemented by the DTI, in cooperation with the Capiz Provincial Government and the Capiz Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Center, Inc. as Cooperator.

Launched in December 7, 2015, the facility is the first one-stop Toll Processing Center in the Province of Capiz intended for start-up businesses in the processed food sector. It aims to help micro entrepreneurs value-add their products through quality and appropriate packaging.

Pollentes said Cristobal has expressed willingness to lead the launching of the additional NC here.

Cristobal had said that he would give importance to the SSF Project he believes that this initiative “have greater impact on the livelihood of Filipinos in the grassroots level.” (END)
