Secretary Gregory L. Domingo led the Philippine delegation to the ASEAN Economic Ministers’ (AEM) Roadshow, held from 21 to 26 October 2013.  The ASEAN ministers travelled to Hong Kong and the cities of Chengdu, Shanghai, and Beijing, to gain better understanding of the Chinese economy and increase awareness of business opportunities between ASEAN and China.

A number of trade and investment promotion seminars were held as part of the event, drawing great interest from Chinese officials and businesspeople. In the past nine months, two-way trade between China and ASEAN hit 322.36 billion USD, an increase of 11.6 percent. By the end of August, two sides’ investment neared 110 billion USD.
