PTIC-London promotes PH at Going Global Live 2016


London, United Kingdom (17 May 2016) – Philippine Trade and Investment Centre-London (PTIC-London), in collaboration with the UK-ASEAN Business Council, promoted the Philippines during the UK’s Going Global Live 2016 held on 11 May 2016 at ExCel, London.

Participated by major industry players in United Kingdom (UK), Going Global Live 2016 is UK’s top national exhibition for businesses looking to expand internationally or set-up overseas operations.

The Philippines, through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-London, had the opportunity to present its economic climate, trade and investment opportunities. Kristine Umali, Head of PTIC-London and Commercial Attaché of the Philippine Embassy in London highlighted the Philippines’ stable GDP growth of 6.2% from 2010-2015, increased foreign direct investments (FDIs) and improved investment grade ratings by top rating agencies such as Fitch, Moody’s and S&P.

HRG to Attend Philippines’ Manila FAME this April


Home Retail Group (HRG), well known for their retail brands Argos and Habitat in the UK, will send a delegation to the Philippines this April 2016 to attend Manila FAME, the country’s premier lifestyle and design show. HRG officials, participating under Center for International Trade Expositions & Missions (CITEM) VIB Program will meet with Filipino companies who can potentially supply them with export quality products in the furniture, home furnishings and holiday décor sectors to name a few.

HRG is the UK’s leading home and general merchandise retailer with about 1,000 stores all over the UK offering 60,000 products to British consumers in a number of categories that include electricals, toys, homewares and has significant business in the DIY, furniture, jewellery and home décor.

Department of Trade & Industry’s CITEM, Philippine Trade & Investment Centre London (PTIC-London) and Export Management Bureau (EMB) are working closely for a successful and productive visit of HRG officials to Manila FAME.

ASEAN Mag meeting by PTIC-London

Sec. Gregory L. Domingo meets with members of the TheCityUK ASEAN Market Advisory Group (MAG). The group is led by Mr. Sushil Saluja of Accenture. The newly formed ASEAN MAG briefed the Secretary about its priorities. It is the first of its kind to be established in the UK. The group is comprised of senior officials and experts within the financial and professional services industry of the UK. The aim of this group is to identify trade and investment opportunities and priorities for strategic business dialogue between the UK and the ASEAN region.
