STA ANA, Cagayan, October 24 (PIA) - - Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) administrator Jose Mari B. Ponce has confirmed that the Cagayan North International Airport’s full-blown operation is set early next year.

Located in Lal-lo, Cagayan, the new airport is a joint venture of the CEZA and a private consortium which is expected to boost tourism industry and investments opportunities to the Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport.

Ponce said the international airport was initiated by CEZA in 2009 for easier access of tourists, investors and local residents to the Cagayan Freeport.

However, he clarified that the operations of the international airport in Lal-lo will not affect the non-stop flight schedules of the Tuguegarao City Airport.
