DTI-Bicol, Legazpi City – Two (2) Negosyo Centers in Albay were launched last August 27, 2015 at the DTI-Albay Provincial Office and at the SEDCEN, LandCo Park, Legazpi City. These Negosyo Centers will now be ready to serve all micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and would-be entrepreneurs in the entire province. MSMEs will now enjoy access to financing, business advisory services, capability building, access to market, and other support services. The “Go Negosyo Act” provides for the establishment of Negosyo Centers in provinces, cities, and municipalities in the country. Negosyo Centers aim to bring government services closer to the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It will boost the development of MSMEs, providing a unified and simplified business registration process, thus helping ease of doing business and fast-track government processes in putting up a business in the province. Sen. Bam Aquino, author of Republic Act (RA) 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act graced the event. Albay Gov. Joey Salceda, Legazpi City Mayor Noel E. Rosal, the DTI-Bicol Management Team, the officers and members of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development (SMED) Council, and other stakeholders also attended the Negosyo Center launching. Small Business (SB) Corporation, the financing arm of the department also awarded checks to some loan grantees during the ceremony. (END)
