Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT) met in Boracay, Aklan Philippines on 23-24 May 2015 under the Chairmanship of the Philippines. During the meeting, the Trade Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation and strengthen economic and technical cooperation to achieve inclusive growth and attain the common goals of development, prosperity and progress. “At our meeting, we endorsed Boracay Action Agenda to Globalize micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This is an action-oriented initiative that supports APEC’s on-going work to address the barriers faced by MSMEs in international trade. Through the Boracay Action Agenda to Globalize MSMEs, we will facilitate micro and small enterprises’ access to regional and global markets,” said Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory Domingo, who also serves as Chairman of the APEC MRT this year.
